chibok girls---no clue yet says Army chief.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Kenneth Minimah says despite the recent recapturing of territories from Boko Haram in the last two weeks, the Nigerian army has no clue on the whereabouts of the 200+ missing Chibok girls abducted in April 2014. The army chief said this while addressing state house correspondence after the security council meeting at the Presidential villa yesterday
"No news for now in all the liberated areas. We have also made enquiries but when the Boko Haram fighters flee they take their dependants with them. Those we have come in contact with have not made any comment suggesting that the Chibok girls were there and were taken away. But we are optimistic that as it becomes closer, the territory is becoming elusive to them we will get further details on that" he said

pope francis writes to Nigerias and Nigerian priests

Pope Francis sent out a warm letter to Nigerians & Nigerian priest yesterday March 17th encouraging everyone in the face of the various Boko Haram attacks. The Pope's letter below...
To the Bishops of Nigeria
Dear Brother Bishops, While we walk this Lenten journey towards the Resurrection of the Lord united with the whole Church, I wish to extend to you, dear Archbishops and Bishops of Nigeria, a fraternal greeting, which I extend to the beloved Christian communities entrusted to your pastoral care. I would also like to share some thoughts with you on the current situation in your country. Nigeria, known as the “African giant”, with its more than 160 million inhabitants, is set to play a primary role, not only in Africa but in the world at large.
In recent years, it has experienced robust growth in the economic sphere and has again reasserted itself on the world stage as an attractive market, on account of its natural resources as well as its commercial potential. It is now considered officially the single largest African economy. It has also distinguished itself as a political player widely committed to the resolution of crisis situations in the continent. At the same time, your nation has had to confront considerable problems, among them new and violent forms of extremism and fundamentalism on ethnic, social and religious grounds.

Many Nigerians have been killed, wounded or mutilated, kidnapped and deprived of everything: their loved ones, their land, their means of subsistence, their dignity and their rights. Many have not been able to return to their homes. Believers, both Christian and Muslim, have experienced a common tragic outcome, at the hands of people who claim to be religious, but who instead abuse religion, to make of it an ideology for their own distorted interests of exploitation and murder. I would like to assure you and all who suffer of my closeness.

Every day I remember you in my prayers and I repeat here, for your encouragement and comfort, the consoling words of the Lord Jesus, which must always resound in our hearts: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you” (Jn 14:27). Peace – as you know so well – is not only the absence of conflict or the result of political compromise or fatalistic resignation. Peace is for us a gift which comes from on high; it is Jesus Christ himself, the Prince of Peace, who has made of two peoples one (cf. Eph 2:14). And only the man or woman who treasures the peace of Christ as a guiding light and way of life can become a peacemaker (cf. Mt 5:9).

At the same time, peace is a daily endeavour, a courageous and authentic effort to favour reconciliation, to promote experiences of sharing, to extend bridges of dialogue, to serve the weakest and the excluded. In a word, peace consists in building up a “culture of encounter”. And so I wish here to express my heartfelt thanks to you, because in the midst of so many trials and sufferings the Church in Nigeria does not cease to witness to hospitality, mercy and forgiveness.

How can we fail to remember the priests, religious men and women, missionaries and catechists who, despite untold sacrifices, never abandoned their flock, but remained at their service as good and faithful heralds of the Gospel? To them, most particularly, I would like to express my solidarity, and to say: do not grow tired of doing what is right!

We give thanks to the Lord for them, as for so many men and women of every social, cultural and religious background, who with great willingness stand up in concrete ways to every form of violence, and whose efforts are directed at favouring a more secure and just future for all. They offer us moving testimonies, which, as Pope Benedict XVI recalled at the end of the Synod for Africa, show “the power of the Spirit to transform the hearts of victims and their persecutors and thus to re-establish fraternity” (Africae Munus, 20). Dear Brother Bishops, in perseverance and without becoming discouraged, go forward on the way of peace (cf. Lk 1:79).

Accompany the victims! Come to the aid of the poor! Teach the youth! Become promoters of a more just and fraternal society! I gladly impart to you my Apostolic Blessing, which I ask you to extend to priests, religious, missionaries, catechists, lay faithful and above all to those suffering members of the Body of Christ.

May the Resurrection of the Lord bring conversion, reconciliation and peace to all the people of Nigeria! I commend you to Mary, Queen of Africa, and I ask you also to pray for me.

FRANCISCUS PP.

patience jonathan- PDP is the messiah, Goodluck is the messiah.

While campaigning at the PDP women rally in Illorin, Kwara state yesterday March 17th, First Lady Patience Jonathan said PDP and her husband are the messiahs Nigerians need
"Nigerian women, if they (APC) come, tell them that your mother said you should not listen to them. They have nothing to offer. They have nothing to give you, Nigerian women; because the battle has already been conquered, God has opened the way for us. God has brought down the messiah for us. And PDP is the messiah. Goodluck is the messiah. I am a person that will tell the truth. I will not abuse people, but if you are old you are old, so leave it to younger people. What are we going to take expired drug to do? Have you seen anywhere where APC cured any person? If you vote and drink it and die, it is not my business. Don't go near APC. It is an expired drug and an adulterated drug"s she said

Seyi Shay speaks on the controversial dress she wore to meet with GEJ, says I wasn't trying to seduce him

Singer Seyi Shay says she had no intention of seducing the president when she wore the short dress to sing and greet the President at the MeetThePresident Youth event in Lagos last Saturday.
"I am a very respectable young lady and I was not in any way trying to seduce the President with the outfit I wore. I had two outfits for the event, one was for my performance and the other was worn after I performed. The dress I was pictured in with the President was what I wore during my performance. I came on stage and greeted everyone according to their culture and I did the same for Mr. President. He was impressed and he asked where and how I knew how to greet in his native dialect and I said I learnt it. That was what brought about the giggling and smiles in the picture. I’m a performer and what I do on stage doesn’t reflect my everyday life. I had two outfits on that day and it was a youth event. Who wouldn’t feel overwhelmed meeting the President? Well, I did and I felt honoured because it is not every day you get to meet the president of your country,” she told

I Consulted Pastor Adeboye Before Accepting To Be Buhari’s Running Mate - Osinbajo

APC’s Muhammadu Buhari's running mate, Yemi Osinbajo who also doubles as a pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church Of God, said he consulted the General Overseer of the church, Pastor E.A Adeboye, before embarking on this journey, Mr Osinbajo spoke to Kayode Falade...
The Redeemed Christian Church of God, where you are a pastor, has come out to say it never endorsed you…
I don’t think the church has ever said any such thing. Also, the church does not endorse candidates. The General Overseer of the church, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has not said any such thing. He has not issued any statement. In any event, the RCCG as a church cannot endorse a candidate. How can a church endorse a candidate?
But did you seek Pastor Adeboye’s consent before accepting the nomination?

I serve under the GO of the RCCG as a pastor. If I am going to take any kind of action, especially an action that involves public service, it is my duty to consult with him. It would be absolutely irresponsible of me not to consult with him. And I have consulted with him.

Did he give you his consent?

I have consulted with Adeboye fully. I am not prepared to share with you the details of our discussion. But be absolutely certain that I would not take these steps without properly consulting with him and that I did what was needful.

Rev. father Mbaka alleges threat to his life, denies receiving money from buhari

Rev, Father Ejike Mbaka says he has been receiving threat messages since his New Year Celebration message which described President Jonathan's administration as full of 'badluck' & poor performance. While delivering his sermon yesterday January 4th, the clergyman said he was not afraid of anybody and that he has delivered the message he was sent to deliver. He says he has been accused of receiving money from APC Presidential candidate Gen Muhammadu Buhari, a man he claimed he doesn't know in person.
"Tell them I am not afraid of them. I have said what I was asked to say. The only word I have for them is Isaiah 54:15,17: “Surely they shall gather, but because the gathering is not of God they shall scatter. No weapon fashioned against me shall prosper. They said Buhari gave me money, but I have never met with Buhari. I don’t know him in person. I only delivered the message I was given and I stand by that message because the future of this country is bleak with Jonathan on the saddle.” he said
Fr. Mbaka said he would have delivered his message to Patience Jonathan privately but efforts to reach her failed on several occasions.
"When she came here, I told her to give me her number so that I could give her messages, but thrice she refused. It was later she told one of the pastors with her to give me his number. So, before that message, I had called the number for two weeks but it was always the Personal Assistant to the pastor that picked the calls"he said
He said if President Jonathan is re-elected, "the next four years will be hell for the country. People are crying of hanger but then you will see what is hunger.”

Buhari--Religion must never be ued by anyone to oppress or gain unfair advantage

He said this at the 8th edition of the Annual Lagos Thanksgiving Service that held yesterday. Buhari said religion must never be used to divide the nation or be used by anyone to oppress or gain unfair advantage.
"I am honoured to participate in this year's edition of the Lagos Thanksgiving Service. I am glad to know that this year's service has brought together Nigerians of all faiths just to thank and praise the Almighty God for his mercies. This is how it should be. Religion must never be used to divide or oppress others or gain unfair advantage. All my life, I have always held the belief that all Nigerians must be fee to worship God according to their beliefs. The duty of government is not religion, the duty of government is to ensure peace, security of all Nigerians, regardless of tribe, race or religion. And this is a commitment all of us must make in this service" He said
