Chaos In Diamond Bank As Mgt Sacks 2000 Workers, Protest Mars Banking Operations

Click for Full Image Size
Diamond Bank office
There was a brief stop in banking activities at the headquarters of Diamond Bank in Lagos, on Wednesday when some angry workers protested their termination of employment by the management of the bank.

Nigeriafilms.com gathered that the financial institution allegedly sacked over 2000 workers. The affected workers took laws into their hands as they allegedly damaged some properties of the bank during the protest.

Digs done by us revealed that Diamond bank has witnessed low patronage, which necessitated the downside of its workforce. The poor patronage allegedly caused the none payment of workers' salaries for over three months.

On Monday, the bank laid-off some staffs.

According to a source, who is one of the affected workers, said he has spent over five years with the bank and without prior notice was sent home on Monday.

"It was a surprise, I resumed as usual on Monday only to meet people at the office gates. It was posted on a board outside that some members of staffs should report to the head office immediately and my name was also included.

"On getting to the head office, we were asked to go home because our services were no longer needed. It was included in the letter that our entitlement would be calculated and sent to us by the end of the month. This is cruel," the source revealed.

A representative of the bank, through an e-mail sent to us, when contacted, only said, "the bank currently employs about 3000 full-time staff and approximately 5000 contract staff outsourced from various vendors.  These contract staff include secretaries, drivers, office assistants, technical crew, etc."

He kept mute on the Monday's sack of over 2000 workers by the bank.

Igbo Actress, Uche Obodo, Craves For Attention, Wishes To Act Unclad

Even if she is ready to do it free, I don’t think any producer would want to feature her anyway. Uche Obodo is the actress, she had lived her time during the time Nollywood was Nollywood, her only problem is just that, she failed to stepped up her game when her colleagues were busy doing that media wise.

Well, now that the industry is filled with starlets who are ready to give it all it takes to be featured, Uche Obodo is now set to wrestle with them, is that rather not too odd?

Anyways, luck might be on her side, she recently made a declaration that she would act nu*e and she gives not hoot about it. She said she is ready to go the way of the notorious AfroCandy.

"I can do anything in acting. There is no limit to what I can do on stage as an actress because I'm a professional actress and I don't care because that role I am playing can is touching somebody somewhere.

"If you give me a n*de role that has something to teach people...I will do it. That is why I am an actress. I don't care what people might say or think about me."

The controversial Sunburn Yacht brought to Lagos by former Senator Tokuboh Afikuyomi and financed by Diamond bank plc recently disappeared from the Marina water in Lagos under a mysterious circumstances. Since its disappearance, neither the bank nor its promoter Lone Seed has come out to state why the yacht suddenly disappeared.

It can now be revealed that the ‘missing’ boat has found its way back to river Thames in London where it originally came fro the boat was said to have been spotted last week at Dockland, London perhaps waiting for the next interested investor.

it would recalled that the boat was brought in pretence that Lagos state government has huge investment in the deal until Governr Fashola publicly disowned ownership of the yacht.

The deal was later taken to court by Diamond Bank seeking court order to retrieve the boat from Lone Seed, a company owned by the former senator.

For several months the boat was docked at Apapa naval dockyard where it went for refurbishment and plumbing re engineering. For the bank, it was a business gone sour as the boat predicted to change the face of Lagos tourism ended up disgracing it.

Uche Jombo’s Shocker: The Negative Story That Forced Tears From My Eyes

Click for Full Image Size
Uche Jombo is one actress that has suffered a lot from negative stories. At a point, she was scandalized with an alleged abortion story, which shook the industry. She went to the extent of suing the magazine and journalist that published the story to a court of law.

Her reported failed relationship with Super Eagles footballer, Kalu Uche went viral in the media. Her eventual marriage to America-based Puerto Rican lover, Kenny Rodriguez was also marred by controversies, when it was secretly held in the USA.

The late release of the wedding pictures stirred controversies in the media again until she released them more than one month after the union was solemnized.

Speaking with Nigeriafilms.com on the story that forced tears out of her eyes, the Abiriba, Abia State-born movie star said that abortion was one of the stories that 'achieved that aim'.

“I have had worse (the abortion story),” Uche Jombo said forcefully. “That one was just big because it was the one I took to court,” she continued, adding that, “because I don't understand why anybody would sit down and fabricate something that would hurt another human being without any shrewd.”

“Even if you don't have a sister, you might marry tomorrow and have a girl child. Anytime anybody writes, I always say, drop your pen and just imagine you being that person. If what you've written is the truth, you are justified. If it is not the truth, the person needs not go anywhere to swear for you, law of karma would just take care of you,” the actress-cum-producer fumed.

Jim Iyke Didn't Push Me Out Of Market -Ernest Azuzu

Click for Full Image Size
Ernest Azuzu was once of the best actors the industry boasted of in the late 90s and early 2000, but like a flower that withers in the evening, the robust actor faded away from the movie circle and he has become a scarce commodity.

When he was reigning, Ernest enjoyed the spotlight and it was like no one would take over the 'bad boy,' role from him. But like a big bang, a 'certain Jim Iyke' came from nowhere and displaced 'almighty' Ernest Azuzu and made him a second choice in the roles he once took charge of.

Blessed with the same physique and almost same intonation, Jim Iyke became the choice of filmmakers for bad boy roles. Before a movie producer thinks of giving a script to Ernest, Jim Iyke must have rejected it.

Nigeriafilms.com caught up with Ernest and asked him how he felt being 'thrown' out of the market by Jim Iyke.
“I wouldn't say that (I was thrown out by a competitor), but probably say that I have where I represent and where I represent doesn't really have any form of competition,” Ernest told us, adding that, “I represent me and being real, that's the most important thing.”

Explaining further, the actor-cum-musician quickly chipped in that, “It has a lot to do with my acting role and every other thing that I do. If you see most of my movies, you will see that I try to be real. I make you feel like you are seeing real life stuff.

“So, I don't see anybody doing that [making me a second fiddle].”

Speaking specifically about Jim Iyke being a threat to him, Ernest disclosed that, “the emergence of new faces has nothing to do with me because if I must do my thing, I just do it and go. If you talk about him (Jim Iyke) now getting most movie roles I am supposed to get, I will put it that at the time he's needed, he is there to attend to them (filmmakers).”

He boasted that, “I have stuffs that I do too. And then, we both cannot be playing on the same role too if we act the same way.”
Though Jim Iyke does not feature in many films again like before, he has retained the 'bad boy awards' tag in Nollywood.

Nollywood Lovers Assault Journalist At LTV 8, Threaten To Kill Him Spiritually

Click for Full Image Size Kunle Adegbite and Biodun Okeowo
Nollywood lovers; Kunle Adegbite and Biodun Okeowo, threw caution in the air on Sunday when they allegedly assaulted a journalist with City People magazine, Gbolahan Adetayo, over a story he wrote about them.

The young journalist had written a story about the lovers in his column that they would soon get married, which didn't go down well with the lovers.

A source, who witnessed the show of shame by the lovers, told Nigeriafilms.com that the duo allegedly threatened to deal with the movie writer spiritually.

This was after the lovers had allegedly beaten and tore the journalist's shirt at the celebrity hangout, causing him a public embarrassment. Gbolahan was allegedly beaten like a kid in the presence of some other journalists and celebrities who were at LTV 8 premises in Alausa, Ikeja, by the embittered lovers.

The source said, "they both even went to the extent of threatening to 'kill Gbolahan spiritually'. They allegedly spoke in Yoruba that "wo, ma pa e danu. La ti o ni lo, mo pe o safe o. Ti mo ba le ba e ja lojukoroju, mo pe ma ba e ja togun togun" (See, I will kill you. Henceforth, know that you are not safe. If I can fight with you physically, then know that I can go spiritually).

Our source wondered why would Kunle and his lover threaten to kill a journalist over an innocent, non-libelous story which they also publicly admitted is known to everyone.

Our source said the journalist has reported the matter to the police and may press for charges against the Nollywood lovers. Efforts to contact the duo of Kunle and Biodun proved abortive as at press time. A source close to them told Nigeriafilms.com that they are in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on a movie location.

However, Gbolahan Adetayo confirmed the story to us when contacted on phone. He said the matter has been reported to the police for investigation.

We would follow up the story and update you with more information as they unfold.

Below is the 'controversial' story;
