So the Presidency owes Nigerians explanation whenever First Lady travels overseas for her PRIVATE MEDICAL CHECK UP?
Please, give our First Lady a break!
She has her private life outside her public life as the current official First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Ask
any qualified physician or medical doctor, your medical history or file
can be as private as you wish and not subject to public inquiry of
scrutiny.
She is not the only first lady travelling for medical checkups or treatment in the world.
And
the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Health, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa
disclosed that Nigerians spend N80 billion annually on foreign medical
trips.
So, how many of those travelling to care and save their
precious lives answer public queries on why they have to travel abroad
for medical services?
In fact, for national security, the privacy of the First Family should be classified!
The government and news media should not broadcast it to the whole world.
It is private and should remain private.
It
is really annoying and lack of better things to do for the Nigerian
press, garrulous celebrity gossip bloggers and other busy bodies to
sensationalize the private lives of public officials. But these same
busybodies bark, growl and snarl like street dogs whenever you also
expose their own private lives like the popular celebrity gossip blogger
who once confessed of being a pimp by collecting monetary commissions
on the monies made by her "runs babe" friend from the White man she
hooked and hoodwinked for her to be servicing in Lagos or the Nigerian
reporters who queue for brown envelopes at events and refuse to report
even news on malaria if they are not paid N5,000 - N10,000!
If
Nigerians must always demand to be informed of the private medical check
ups of the First Lady, Dame (Dr) Patience Goodluck Jonathan, then they
might as well be told whenever she is going to the toilet to poo.
